Toler & Toler LLC became an independent life insurance agency in 1979 which was well ahead of the industry curve. We began concentration on the estate planning and wealth transfer market in 1981 and have found that to be our strongest market segment over the last 30 years.
In the 1990’s, the need was recognized to form strategic alliances in order to serve our corporate and individual clients more effectively. The agency sold a controlling interest of its health insurance book to Brown Rayburn of Ashland, Kentucky in order to secure the buying power of the agency and their expertise in a rapidly changing market place. We maintain a strong working relationship with Dave Brown and his staff and continue to work with them on each and every employee benefit plan.
In 1997, we transferred all of our agency contracts to the Insurance Designers of America franchise in Kansas City for processing and sale of all of our life, annuity, and disability income business. We have had a 30 year+ affiliation with their principal, Steve Burk, CLU, CEBS, CFP, MSFS, ChFC, MSM, AEP and felt it was time to shift our focus 100% to the service and sales sector for our clients. IDAKC negotiates all contracts and provides us with a unique blend of in-house underwriting and evaluation of various carriers that we believe is the best in the industry.
The combination of our field expertise, IDAKC’s underwriting network and in-house expertise, and the national franchises hundreds of millions of dollars of buying power allows us to leverage our influence in our clients favor far beyond the average agency’s abilities and assures us of always being competitive on our quotes.

Toler & Toler LLC marketing is exclusively referral business. 100% of our business is generated by referrals from our clients, from other insurance agents for joint cases, and the balance from professional service firms, and an informal affiliation with regional investment firms.

Our approach to business is simply to follow the following format in each and every case:
l – Discovery -We collect all available data from a client in order to develop the information needed to develop a formal plan.
2 – Desire – We meet with the clients to review their situation in order to determine what they actually are trying to achieve. We identify goals and prioritize them as soon as possible.
3 – Plan – We assist in the assembly of the “team” (legal, accounting, financial, etc.) needed to draft and implement the plan appropriate for the client.
4 – Review: We assist in the review of the proposed plan along with all other appropriate professionals
5 – Implementation – We assist in the finalization of all needed legal and financial matters to assure all agreed upon components of the plan are completed.
6 – Service: We provide reviews and updates as needed on all facets of our client accounts
